HANS BRULAND

GM – The Hay Adams Hotel

Hans Bruland, general manager of the historic Hay Adams, brings more than 26 years of hospitality industry experience to this andmark property. In June 2001, he assumed additional responsibilities as vice president of the Hay Adams Management Company, LLC. Board memberships include the Washington Performing Arts Society, Leadership Washington and the Carino Collection.

Kitty Hsu Dana

Associate General Secretary for Advancement – American Friends Service Committee

Kitty Hsu Dana has held senior positions with the American Public Health Association, Planned Parenthood of Maryland, and the Helix Health System. Ms. Dana serves on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts Council of the Nation’s Capital and was previously on the Board of the National Multicultural Institute. She is a graduate of Leadership Washington.

Myriam Khalifa

GM – The Hay Adams Hotel

Myriam Khalifa is the senior vice president of Human Resources for Avendra, LLC, the leading independent, business-to-business procurement company serving the hospitality industry. Before joining Avendra, Ms. Khalifa was vice president of Human Resources for Marriott International where she began her career 20 years earlier. Ms. Khalifa also recently oversaw the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) program for managing executive development for Egyptian CEOs and business leaders.

Elizabeth Shea

President & CEO – Speakerbox Communications,LLC

Elizabeth Shea, President and CEO of Speakerbox Communications,LLC, a business communications firm founded in 1997. Ms. Shea has twenty years of technology experience, working with such companies as Apple Computer, Momenta Corporation SuperMac Technologies, Falcon Microsystems and I-Net. In 2001, Ms. Shea was recognized as the 2001 PR Woman of the Year by Washington Women in Public Relations and as the Entrepreneur Leadership Award Winner for Women in Technology in 2005. She serves on the Communications Department Advisory Council at George Mason University.

Jim Wolfe

CEO & co-founder – J Street Consulting

Jim Wolfe is the CEO and co-founder of J Street Consulting, a Washington, DC firm specializing in strategies for new products and new companies. Jim also serves as Entrepreneur in Residence and Assistant Professor at George Mason University. He has been a founder, director, or consultant to more than 50 early-stage firms in a wide range of industries both in the U.S. and abroad. Currently Jim is the Treasurer of the Business Alliance, and is a past director of the National Entrepreneurship Foundation, the National Business Incubation Association, and a former Trustee of Indiana University.

William Zeigler, Jr., Ph.D.

VP, HR, & Organization Development – Washington Gas

William Zeigler, Jr., Ph.D. serves as Vice President, Human Resources and Organization Development at Washington Gas. Prior to joining Washington Gas, Dr. Zeigler was the National Director, Leadership & Organizational Change, at Ernst & Young LLP and served as Senior Director, Organization Development with Praxair, Inc. Prior to Praxair, he held similar positions at GenCorp, Inc., Tenneco’s Automotive Division, Newport News Shipbuilding, and Aetna. He serves on several boards including Chairman of the American Gas Association’s HR Policy Committee, Howard University FAS Program, GMU College of Education and Human Development, and the Mid-Atlantic Region of INROADS.
